Location  Gaydon.

Ebild Ltd require a Specialist Engineer to support the delivery of Material Cost Reduction (MCR) targets through the deployment of Team Value Management process, idea generation and large scale platform cost saving opportunities (MegaProjects)..  Applicants must possess the ability to build good relationships and have excellent influencing and negotiation skills.  They will be resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs.   An individual who enables speed in decision making through establishing alignment, clarity, appropriate resources and sense of urgency whilst bringing others along is highly recommended for this role.  Although primary location is Gaydon the role may require travel between all JLR sites (Whitley / Castle Bromwich / Solihull / Halewood/Wolverhampton)

This role is most suited to someone with proven project management skills, including support for product development and purchasing projects.  This person will also possess the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues to leverage knowledge and experience.  In addition, they will be steadfast in order to follow through and complete delivery, using initiative to find solutions.

Experience Required:

The successful candidate will have an Engineering Degree or equivalent.  They will evidence Project Management experience, possess knowledge of Automotive Product Creation System & Engineering Change Processes and  have  Product Engineering experience.  They will also know of the Plant and New Model Launch Process and be able to lead multi-functional teams in the delivery of projects.  The individual will be well organised, capable of prioritising and able to motivate a team to robustly deliver TVM projects at the earliest opportunity.

Candidates will be familiar with Product Engineering and programme management activities, TVM, Benchmarking, Value Engineering and other lean tool applications.

The role and responsibilities include :-

*You will manage and review Key Performance Indicators

*You will create individual vehicle line cost reduction route maps through idea generation & use of the TVM tool set.

*You will deliver annual design TVM business plan targets (£ per unit & £ millions)

*You will contribute to new model programme cost target delivery.

*You will be responsible for Project Management of Material Cost Reduction tasks on all current vehicles within a Brand or Platform, and support of programme teams

*You will deliver future product cost targets.

*You will lead and organise vehicle specific idea generation events to identify margin improvement opportunities,

*You will manage resultant Design Cost Reduction actions through to implementation working with Vehicle Line Director’s, Chief Programme Engineer’s, Programme Teams, Plant PVT & Logistics teams and Product Engineering plus the wider business to deliver vehicle line business plan cost reduction targets.

*You will be expected to report on  vehicle line material costs (design and non-design) status.

*When progressing ideas, you will co-ordinate resolution of technical, design, cross functional and financial issues for all projects no matter what the size.

*Secure and manage Project funding accordingly.

*Develop and maintain linkages to Vehicle Programme teams and Programme activities. ¿

*Develop major project proposals, engaging in cross functional project management and liaise with core Programme teams.

*You will be expected to interact across Departments ; Product Engineering, Cost Engineering, Purchasing, MP&L, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing and Design.  As well as work at all levels including Production Operators, Engineers, Managers and Directors.
